With 27 years in the tourism industry, Wendy has worked at community, regional, provincial and international levels including working for Walt Disney World, Tourism Victoria, BC Ferries, the City of Revelstoke, and two of BC’s tourism regions.
During her 10 years as Manager, Regional Partnerships with Destination BC, Wendy supported tourism response and recovery coordination for various emergency events including for Mount Polley in 2014. As Manager, Corporate Projects and Emergency Programs, Wendy is now leading Destination BC’s efforts to help craft an Emergency Coordination Plan for BC’s tourism industry. With a MA, in Tourism Management from Royal Roads University, where she first studied emergency related impacts on the tourism industry; Wendy is continuing studies in Emergency Management with the Justice Institute of BC.
