Chief Administrative Officer, City of Revelstoke

Allan has worked in a number of local communities heavily impacted and supported by the growth and development of tourism industries. Allan started his work in local government in the mid 1980’s in Invermere with terms as an Alderman (as they were known back then) and Mayor.

In addition to serving as City Clerk in Prince George, Allan has worked as Corporate Officer (new name for the City Clerk too) in 2 other communities and as Chief Administrative Officer in 3 small cities in the Province. His work experience in Invermere, Golden, Fernie and now Revelstoke during times when they were each experiencing strong growth in the tourism industry makes him keenly aware of the challenges and opportunities that confront local governments because of that. Allan’s work involves balancing an emerging and growing tourism industry with more traditional resource industries and addressing the socio-economic and environmental impacts that go along with that.
