Sustainability
Tourism is a powerful engine for economic, cultural, and social well-being and can be a catalyst for addressing major issues and opportunities such as climate change, sustainability, reconciliation, and workforce, among other priorities.
Working with ConnectSeven Group, TIABC has intentionally woven sustainability into all aspects of the planning for the 2025 BC Tourism Industry Conference.
Guided by an action plan that is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), TIABC and ConnectSeven Group will be working to ensure we are reducing the conference’s environmental footprint while increasing its community, local economy and cultural benefit. Sustainability is a journey and we look to continue learning how we can make a more positive impact; target metrics and a carbon emission measurement report will help us measure success and inform areas of improvement for future conferences.
